Bug reports | Re: Schematic: moving bus to another sheet resets signal nam
Oh, good grief... Now I can't duplicate it either. The sheets are standard, and I selected two connectors plus a bus and connecting signals which ran between them, right-clicked, moved to another sheet, and all the nets were renamed to defaults.
I guess you just have to take my word for that... If the bug isn't reproducible it isn't track-down-able either. If I find a way to reliably reproduce it I'll update this post.

DipTrace PCB Layout | Re: How do i generate an assembly image? (NOT PNP FILE!)
Select all components, right click Properties, in the Markings tab Main Marking Show: RefDes, Justify: Center OK
Go to Print Preview: Scale to fit page, Objects unclick pads, print to PDF.
Yes, you can center the image with the double cross arrows next to the zoom extents icon.
You can add a Component property in Properties Main, call it NotUsed with a Value of NC or just X and for each component that is not used change the Show RefDes to Show NotUsed

DipTrace PCB Layout | Re: View all layers individually?
It never occurred to me to do that, Kevin. An excellent solution to the DipTrace mask viewing issue. Two things to watch out for when importing Gerbers into DipTrace...
1) Disable the [] Enable Real-time DRC option before importing or there may be a long wait for all of the DRC checking to finish.
2) Expect DipTrace to import oval mask shapes as ellipses. I reported this bug a while ago, but so far nothing has come of it.

Bug reports | Re: No Net Highlighting in Mirror Mode
Yeah, it looks like "Highlight Net" needs a little more work as it also throws parts of the highlighted trace off the PCB when mirrored. See the attached video contained in the zip folder below...
p.s. I just added a demonstration PCB file.

DipTrace PCB Layout | Re: Best way to update changes from library?
Until DipTrace is equipped with automatic forward propagation, that's really the only sure-fire way to do it correctly. If you have a lot of components to update in the schematic it might speed things up just a little by selecting all of the components (Ctrl + A). Then you can right-click on any one of the components, choose Update from Library in the pop-up menu, click on Selected Components in the fly-out menu, wait for the update process to complete and resave. If none of the components were previously renamed, they will all be automatically updated in one fell swoop using the appropriate libraries. In the PCB Layout editor, use the hotkey combination of Ctrl + Alt + U to renew from related schematic.

Bug reports | Re: Converter32 Issue with 3D render on Ubuntu 16.04
I'm having the same issue on my MacBook Pro running OS X 10.10.5 (16GB RAM). I installed DipTrace a few weeks ago. The 3D rendering issue started as an intermittent problem at first. A quit/restart of the app would usually help. Now, 3D rendering won't run at all. I tried rebooting the machine and switched to a very simple 1-2 component circuit. Each time the rendering goes into a loop and eventually produces the same error:
After that, the PCB app must be forcefully shut down.
I also tried the suggestions above (different Graphics Mode, etc), though on Mac, I don't see any option to move between 32/64 bit versions.
The 3D rendering feature is one of the big reasons I'm moving over to DipTrace (I've got a tricky enclosure setup and 3D will be imported for mechanical checking).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

- Is there logging (a local log file) that I could check to further debug the issue?
- What can be done to get this feature working again..?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

DipTrace PCB Layout | Re: How do i generate an assembly image? (NOT PNP FILE!)
That is NOT what i need because as you should know all the passives don't have a rectangle around them ![Image]()
but anyway, thanks! you made me dive in the view menu anyway and i found the answer![Image]()
View -> Assembly Layers and select what i need to display. In my case "Pattern Border" was enough, but i can also select silkscreen and board dimensions and then export the assembly layer only.
If you ask me there should be a way to do this inside the preview menu, but i'm glad i found the way![Image]()

Bug reports | Re: Converter32 Issue with 3D render on Ubuntu 16.04
What is your DipTrace version now. We suggest to reinstall DipTrace. Correct sequence is the following.
1. Make sure the system has xQuartz installed. Otherwise download and install the latest stable version of xQuartz, logout and login.
2. Remove folder //Users/macuserdip/DipTrace 3.1.0.1/.
3. Move DipTrace 3.1.0.1 from Applications to Trash.
4. Open downloaded DMG file, drag DipTrace 3.1.0.1 from there to Applications.
5. Open Applications, find DipTrace 3.1.0.1 there and start the program.
6. The first start takes a while (more than usual). It shows Wine window during the first start informing about building the prefix then the window is closed and DipTrace is started.
We recommend to put 3D models within Wine prefix //Users/macuserdip/DipTrace 3.1.0.1/ to avoid any problem with access to 3D model files.
Please let me know whether 3D preview works now or not.

Okay - thanks. At least I'm not missing something. This is the ONLY complaint that I have of DipTrace over Eagle. (Not that I don't have other complaints, but DipTrace has been breath of fresh air since Eagle. ![Image]()
I do actually often use the Ctrl-A to Update from Library, but even then it only works per single schematic sheet. So you have to go sheet by sheet.

Shared Libraries | Re: library and PCB footprint for USB Type C receptacle and
Digikey has stock for only one part: 1-2295018-2 you can download the 3D, PDF and DXF files here http://www.te.com/usa-en/product-1-2295018-2.html
The DXF file is useless, some day in my lifetime I wish they would catch a clue and export pad layout in Drawing Exchange Format....
They also have the molex 105450-0101 http://www.molex.com/molex/products/dat ... ECTORS.xml
--------------- Just for fun (I didn't have one) I swear the people that draw the these up are in competition with others to see how obfuscated they can make the drawing:

DipTrace PCB Layout | Re: Orcad to DipTrace ?
I'm using Orcad 17.2 The "or" was added at the beginning of the DLL name at some point after version 9, and the 64 is for libraries that are 64 bit. The protel2.dll is probably the correct one for your version of Capture. The main point is that it I was able to import a Protel format netlist into DipTrace.
